Be Welcoming
Hospitality
Opening doors and tables, the way B welcomed everyone she met.
In loving memory of Brittney “B” Michaels
We exist to bring hope to those facing life-changing adversity by meeting people where they are, extending a helping hand when they need it most, and reminding them that their circumstances do not define their future.
Making a difference one moment at a time
Our Story
B was wonderfully resourceful and endlessly creative. She loved arts and crafts, danced on stage for more than sixteen years, and had a particular love for Broadway. She loved sunflowers. She kept her Christmas lights glowing in her room all year long. And when the rain came, B didn’t run from it—she jumped right in. She was a puddle jumper, finding joy in the storm and somehow making everyone around her want to jump in, too.
In 2008, B experienced a devastating trauma that changed the course of her life. In the years that followed, she faced significant medical, physical, and emotional challenges. But her struggles never defined her—B was always greater than what she was going through. Along the way, she found a renewed faith in Jesus and began to see the world through God’s eyes. Her struggles gave her compassion, and her heart drew her toward others.
On the morning of November 18, 2021, our family lost B. She passed away in her sleep at just 32 years old.
But B’s story did not end that morning.
The light she carried, the hope she offered, and the way she chose joy in life’s storms live on.
Because B didn’t just believe in making a difference.
She lived it.
Our Purpose
Out of our heartache, we created The B Project Foundation — to bring hope and a helping hand to people facing hardship, grounded in the faith in Jesus that carried us through.
In remembrance of B, we will continue:

Community
B kept Christmas lights in her room all year and made sure her family put theirs up every season. Families across local communities compete for Most Spectacular, Best Story, and Most Creative display, and community winners go on to a regional final.
Basketball · Saturday, October 31
Basketball teams register and each player takes 50 free throws on the same day, collecting pledges for every shot made. Teams compete for most shots made, most money raised, and a hot-shot showdown.

The Arts
An evening of story, music, and the stage. It will tell Our Story, Her Story, and His Story in a creative, joyful way, and invite everyone there to decide how they’ll make a difference for someone else.
B’s favorite verse
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
